Most Important Advice for Dealing with UTIs

I was recently invited for an interview with a health magazine.  Health magazines often ask canned questions intended to elicit sexy quotes over profound insight.  One question often asked is "If you had to give one (you fill in the blank)"  We wanted to address the question about one piece of advice we would give sufferers of UTIs.

Stop treating the symptoms of UTIs alone!  Attack the underlying causes!  UTIs are not isolated events.  There is a pattern that exists and we need to break the pattern of irritation, bacterial adhesion, inflammation, temporary relief, and then another flare up.  Unless the cycle is interrupted, it will keep repeating, no matter how many antibiotics you take.

I want you to know that you are not defective and you are not causing your UTIs.  In most cases, even if you were doing something to cause this disease, there's no easily accessible information to base any changes on.

The question we should ask is not "what have I done?", but "what can I do?"  When we ask the right question, the answers are far easier to find.

So, here is what you can do to strengthen your body so that it is not as susceptible to UTIs in the future.  Drink lots of water to flush out the bad bacteria.  Don't hold it.  When your God given response is to empty your bladder, empty your bladder.  Take supplements like Utmost Nutrients Urinary Defense to support the microbiome and to provide a healthier urinary environment capable of fighting and removing unhealthy bacteria.

Don't accept responsibility for causing your UTI.  Just take responsibility for preventing UTIs in the future.
